Caron Butler: Takes Shot to Eye

Update: During the first half of Saturday’s 106-81 loss in Orlando, Butler butted heads with Magic guard Mickael Pietrus and suffered a gruesome cut just above his left eye, the Washington Post reports. Butler is now going to be wearing goggles to protect the eye.

Recommendation: The cut led to severe swelling and bled into Butler’s eye. Doctors closed the cut with glue. He doesn’t expect it to be a major problem for Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz. “It was a different look with the goggles… but I found a pair that works and I’m good to go,” said Butler. “Overall it feels good. It just bled out into the eye. It was way worse Monday though. It’s actually open so I can see and it’s not blurry, so I’m good.” Keep Butler in your lineups but be aware he could go though a little adjustment period slightly affecting his numbers as he gets used to wearing the goggles.
